Who am I?
Hi, I'm Josh—a Video Editor, Capture Artist, and Cinematic Artist from the UK. I've always loved creating things and feel incredibly fortunate to work with two of my passions—gaming and editing!
I currently work for Rebellion where my main duties are capturing footage, creating cinematics, making trailers and many other cool things. When I’m not doing that, I’m always tinkering away with Blender, Unity, and Unreal Engine.
I originally started out in animation before discovering my true calling in video editing. To me, editing felt like animation but with far cooler toys to play with. By around 10 or 11 years old, I was already honing my skills with a trusty (and entirely legal) copy of Sony Vegas 7, and have been hooked ever since.
My start in games was through editing Halo 2 and Gears of War montages, using either my own footage or clips from friends. I became interested in creating my own cinematics using the Gears of War 'editor', a heavily customised version of Unreal 3. Through tinkering with the engine, it helped me reverse engineer and learn skills in model and asset ripping, rigging and animation, texturing, coding in Python and altering ini files.
Now having made it into the industry, I find I don't have as much time to make montages, but I still enjoy editing and creating things whenever I can.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of the internet! If you’re interested in collaborating or just want to chat, feel free to reach out on my socials. Who knows—we might become great friends. 😊
