REBELLION DEVELOPMENTS

For this project we carried out a multi-day shoot in London that brought together numerous influencers and gaming journalists to experience Atomfall and help promote the game to a wider audience. The event saw The Woodman pub in Highgate, transformed into the Grendel’s Head, a pub that is in the game. The venue was fully decorated with props from the game including a Lake District inspired black and white signpost and was staffed with live actors dressed to represent game characters.
Hawkshead Brewery also created a special Atomfall Ale for the event, which was served on tap to guests.
As part of the video team, our role was to set up and run the interview space, which featured two Sony FX3 cameras — one for wide shots and another equipped with a zoom lens for close-ups. We used lavalier microphones and a separate audio recorder to capture 32-bit float audio for the guests. Due to the sheer number of interviews, we used an electronic clapperboard to record key details for each participant — including their name, company, and interview time. This proved invaluable during, helping us organize the footage and securely deliver it to each influencer and their agency via private download links.
In addition to the interviews, we filmed general B-roll throughout the event for use in future promotional content.
Since the room was quite dim when we arrived, we used a total of seven lights for the setup. Five were positioned to generally brighten the space, along with dedicated key and rim lights for each chair. We added two accent lights for creative contrast — an orange light illuminating the side where the Rebellion representative sat (due to using our available tripods, I provided a 'creative solution' for this), and a deep blue light to highlight the curtain backdrop.
As part of a 3 person team, the shoot was fast-paced and demanding, but also a lot of fun. I’m proud to have contributed meaningfully to showcasing and marketing the game in a creative and engaging way.
Equipment used: Sony FX3, LED panels, RGB LED bars, Lav mics, Zoom H2N audio recorder
Here's some pics from the shoot!
I stacked two chairs on a table to mount the light — sometimes you just make do with what you’ve got!
